Teach For Zimbabwe and DHL Host Inspiring Career Fair in Mutoko
All roads led to Mutoko on the 20th of June for what turned out to be one of the most impactful career fairs we’ve hosted under the GoTeach Program.
GoTeach is a global initiative by Teach For All and DHL, designed to expand employment opportunities for young people from underserved backgrounds. In Zimbabwe, the program is proudly facilitated by Teach For Zimbabwe and DHL Zimbabwe.
This year’s career fair, the first of 2025, was hosted at Mutoko Government High School and brought together volunteers from both organizations, alongside professionals from The Rotary Club, a lawyer from the local district, a team of student doctors, and Coach Stan from Candoa Careers, who brought energy and wisdom on alternative career paths like life coaching.
Over 350 students from 10 schools attended the event. Learners were grouped according to their study areas—Sciences, Arts, and Commercials—and rotated through career stations featuring fields such as Biochemistry, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mathematics, Law, Medicine, IT, Development, Social Work, Logistics, and Accounting.
A’ Level learners received focused mentorship tailored to help guide their post-high school decisions, while O’ Level students explored all stations to broaden their horizons. The event kicked off with an address from the District Schools Inspector, who encouraged students to ask questions and fully engage.
A special shout-out goes to TFZ volunteer Wadzanayi Gorimani, who went above and beyond by designing creative, informative visuals of career paths and universities offering relevant programs. Thank you, Wadzanayi—we see you!
The event concluded on a high note, leaving both learners and volunteers inspired. We now look forward to the next installment of this exciting and impactful initiative.
A heartfelt thank you to DHL Zimbabwe for your continued partnership and commitment to empowering rural youth. Together, we’re building brighter futures—one career fair at a time.
