ProFuturo

The ProFuturo program, facilitated by TFZ, has been instrumental in transforming the educational landscape in Zimbabwe. In 2021 alone, TFZ successfully provided comprehensive teacher professional development to over 1025 secondary teachers, headmasters, and district authorities in Mutoko and Chiredzi. The impact of this initiative has been profound, equipping educators with the necessary tools to navigate the digital age effectively.

In 2022-23, Teach for Zimbabwe went further to extend its reach by targeting more than 990 secondary school teachers in Chivi, Mudzi, and Mutoko districts. The training sessions focused on enhancing educators’ competencies in Basic Digital Skills, Vision and Planning, Classroom Management, Checking for Understanding, Management of large groups, and Emotional Intelligence.

As we set our sights in 2024, TFZ remains committed to its mission of empowering educators across Zimbabwe. Plans are underway as we are training 1900 teachers and 210 fellows in Binga, Chiredzi, Chivi, and Mutoko districts. This strategic expansion underscores TFZ’s dedication to ensuring that quality education is accessible to all corners of the country.

The targeted beneficiaries of this program are vast and diverse. From secondary school teachers seeking professional growth opportunities to headmasters striving for effective school leadership practices and district authorities aiming for educational excellence at a systemic level—ProFuturo’s impact transcends individual classrooms. Ultimately, the true beneficiaries are the students themselves who stand to benefit from a more engaging and enriching learning experience facilitated by empowered educators.
