Don’t Stop Learning

In the absence of a physical classroom the marginalised learners have limited access to virtual learning due to connectivity and lack of access to gadgets used for virtual learning. The MP3 players are loaded with compressed rapid content that the learner is able to use while at home in the event that the learner is not able to attend school. The DSL program involves the use of low technology (MP3 players) that is applicable to a rural set up to compliment the catch-up program by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (MoPSE). This came into play in response to the adverse effects of Covid-19 lockdowns. The program addresses the learning lag experienced by marginalised learners who do not have access to digital gadgets they can use outside the classroom set up. These MP3s are preloaded with educational content/material based on each subject in both primary and secondary curriculum. Each student is given an MP3 player on which he/she can listen to the lessons while at home. TFZ has Content developers for each subject. The program target is to distribute the MP3s to 1200 learners in 20 schools in Chiredzi and Mutoko districts.
