OUR MISSION

Our mission is to cultivate a diverse corps of emerging leaders through the Leadership Fellowship. This two-year program combines teaching, community engagement, and leadership development in Zimbabwe’s highest-need schools. This fellowship is more than a classroom placement – it is a transformative leadership experience that equips Fellows with the mindsets, skills, and resilience to drive systemic change. By empowering Fellows to unleash their own leadership and ignite the potential of their students, Teach For Zimbabwe works to advance a holistic and equitable education system that meets the diverse needs of all children. In doing so, we are developing a pipeline of 21st-century leaders committed to reimagining education and shaping a more just, inclusive future for Zimbabwe.

Education
Crisis

Over 65% of Zimbabwe’s learners are enrolled in rural and low-income areas and these ordinarily face limited access to quality education, inadequate teaching resources, and poor learning outcomes and infrastructure that will enhance their leaning and development. This translates to limited access to holistic, quality education that should ensure they can reach their full potential.

In order to change the current situation, TFZ recognizes the need for collective and innovative leadership. Meaningful and sustainable change is only possible through leaders who understand the local culture, challenges, and opportunities, and who believe in the potential of children and their communities.
